Season 6 is almost here—just weeks away—and the anticipation is unreal. The creators of The Chosen are about to step into the most intense, sacred moments of Jesus’ life: the Crucifixion and His final days. But while we wait for that emotional rollercoaster, let’s rewind and dive into Season 2. Whether you binge it in one sitting or revisit your favorite episodes, this season has plenty to keep your heart and mind engaged.
Season 2 packs eight episodes, and trust me, once you finish them, you’ll wish there were eight more. The disciples are gearing up for the Sermon on the Mount—the most iconic message ever preached. As the season unfolds, we meet new disciples, witness more miracles, and watch Jesus ruffle the feathers of quite a few Jewish leaders. He doesn’t slow down, doesn’t soften His message, and doesn’t shy away from confrontation. By the time the season wraps, every disciple has stepped into the story, and Jesus is ready to deliver His world-changing sermon.
One standout episode for me is their creative take on the Good Samaritan parable. Instead of focusing on the injured man, The Chosen zooms in on the robber. That twist sent me straight back to Scripture. In the biblical parable, we’re drawn to the compassion of the Samaritan who stops when everyone else walks by. But the show imagines the robber’s fate—his guilt, his downfall, his humanity. It’s not a perspective we get in Scripture, but it reminds you that every story has layers, and sometimes the person you overlook has a story worth hearing.
Another favorite is the healing at the Bethesda pool. The writers give Jesse a backstory that connects him to Simon the Zealot. Scripture doesn’t tell us they were brothers, but the choice adds emotional weight. Twenty-five years of waiting. Twenty-five years of suffering. Twenty-five years of hoping that something—anything—might change. And then Jesus walks in and he is healed in a moment. It was so miraculous!
What was your favorite episode from this season? There are so many powerful moments to choose from.
